Columbus Speaks is a call to action in response to George Floyd being killed by the hands of the police. George Floyd is the tip of the iceberg of the discrimination and systemic racism experienced by the Black community every day. We want to bring together our community to continue to unite for Black lives and other silenced voices in our society. We support all Black lives; children, elderly, male, female, nonbinary, transgender, LGBTQ, cisgender. We are aware of the privilege that we have and we want to use our platform to support Black lives and human rights. We practice empathy to help others learn, grow, and connect with this movement. We stand with the Black Lives Matter Organization in that we “embody and practice justice, liberation, and peace in our engagements with one another”. We want to be able to facilitate conversation that sparks change, spreads positivity, and invokes courage. Columbus Speaks wants to bring ideas into reality through meaningful community engagement. This is a platform of advocacy and engagement for those voices unheard.
Columbus Isn't Silent
Our goal is to raise funds for the Columbus Freedom Fund & The Loveland Foundation along with helping to educate our city why #BlackLivesMatter. We want to help unite Columbus to show that we will not be silent and we will continue to fight for black lives both now and in the future.
